la dolce far niente

channeling the storyline of eat pray love into what is going on in my life. i wish this weekend were spring break because i'm in need of some dolce far niente- the sweetness of doing nothing. trust that it is at the top of my to do list once i get home...then on to homework. but first and most importantly is finding my balance through doing absolutely nothing. i am eager to get to that moment when i have unpacked my car and curled up on the couch with charlie. he always gets so excited to see tyler and i when we have been gone for a long time. looking forward to that- the sheer joy of being wanted and missed so much by someone (even a pet).

the other night i could not sleep so i got up and wrote all of the words flying through my mind...my first poem in years. these are the small things i hold onto and cherish lately. it is all about finding myself again. another key idea in eat pray love is attraversiamo- let's cross over. in 51 days i have to "cross over" whether i am ready or not. it is a scary and exciting thing to slowly approach the cliche fork in the road. pretty much everything in my life has changed this year and it has been such an emotional ride.

thank you to my friends and family who have kept me strong and moving forward. i owe you everything. thank you for being patient, for listening, and for all of the hugs. it is a blessing to have you in my life to help guide me down this winding road. all of you have become my collective rock- solid when i am anything but. these photos convey what i cannot with words how i feel in this moment.
