I help people, it's just what I do. In elementary school my parents would go to parent-teacher conferences and hear about how I'd do other people's worksheets for them because I got done with mine and my classmates had a hard time completing them. Obviously I've gotten over doing other people's homework for them but helping people is still a big part of who I am.
I love lending a hand because it makes me feel better knowing that I can be selfless. Now I'm not trying to make myself out to be a saint because I do have one complaint: when I help someone and they don't say 'thank you.' People have lost their manners, perhaps they never acquired them. The disdain for people lacking manners could extend into multiple posts so I won't rant for long but, honestly, COME ON! Two words...that require little energy and time to utter. I digress.
Regardless, I continue to perform random acts of kindness because of those people who have helped me out. Not to get all cheesy but kind of like paying it forward, ok that was really cheesy. Next semester I'm going to be a peer adviser and I can't wait, so many new freshmen to help.
